Text Message Scam -- January 2009

Recently, there have been a rash of fraudulent text messages being sent from unknown sources directing recipients to a phone number or website where confidential account information is requested. Please know that Hawaii State Federal Credit Union DOES NOT send text message to members. Also, the credit union will NEVER send members unsolicited messages via mobile phone or e-mail requesting confidential account information.

If you should receive a text or e-mail message like this, do not respond and delete it immediately. If you mistakenly responded to a fraudulent text message and released your account information, or if you are unsure of a message’s legitimacy, please call us immediately at 587-2700 (Oahu), or toll-free 1-888-586-1056.
